Position: Lat: 80.354 South Long: 81:206 West

Miles covered: 4

Total miles covered: 30

Air temperature: - 16 C

Conditions: Sunny, southerly wind, 6 - 10 Knots

The team's stay in Patriot Hills turned out to be longer than expected as the whiteout conditions prevented them from leaving until 20:30 GMT on Sunday.

Once on the move again, they travelled for 3 hours, covering about 4 miles before making camp for the night. The snow conditions were very good although they are still contending with an uphill gradient. They are also having to divert to the East to make their way around some hills and an area of small sastrugi* and crevasses.

All kit and equipment is behaving itself and good health and very good spirits are reported all round.

* wavelike irregularities on the surface of the polar snow, caused by winds
