Total miles covered: 139

The team made contact on Thursday afternoon to give their latest news - they are taking it in turns to be the voice of 'Radio Chilly' and Ann Daniels was spokeswoman this time. She reported that their general situation is very good, with nothing worse than a few blisters.

Tuesday was a relatively slow day with 9 miles covered, but with colder weather coming in the surface is hardening up and they made 11 miles on Wednesday. The ice that they are travelling over has a flat, crusty surface with very soft powder underneath.

Rosie gave her long awaited report about a typical night in the expedition tent 'Tent life - we've got it pegged'.

The team are extending their day by 1 hour every day, so if all goes to plan, the next contact will be on Saturday evening at 20:00 GMT.
