Monday was an average day with 9 miles covered. After this, however, the wind got up and the team were stormbound inside their tent for the whole of Tuesday. The wind was blowing at 30 knots with an outside 'wind chill' temperature of - 40 C. Unsurprisingly travel in these conditions is impossible.
The wind has now dropped and, although there is a complete whiteout, the team were planning to attempt travel on Wednesday, once they had finished digging out their tent and sledges. They have 432 miles to go.
They are all still well - Caroline has had a slight temperature but has recovered now - and they are all sounding very happy.
Being stormbound did provide an ideal opportunity for Rosie to record 'Profile of a pulk', her report on sledgehauling. The next report from Rosie will be on the subject of 'Powering it up.'
