Miles covered: 21

Total miles covered: 198

On Wednesday the team travelled 10 miles but the terrain was bumpy with snow drifts in between that made it very difficult to maintain a good skiiing/walking (their word for it is 'trudging') pace.

Thursday began well but during the day the wind got up from the east and it began to snow, causing more drifts. In spite of spending a 'horrid' day in these conditions they still managed 11 miles. The temperature on both Wednesday and Thursday remained a steady - 14 C.

The general situation is very good. They have now covered 198 miles and have only 6 more to go before they will have completed one third of their journey!
