Position: Lat: 85.687 South Long: 86.69 West
Miles covered: 13
Total miles covered: 365
Miles to the South Pole: 258
Conditions: Very cold, windy, some sunshine
The day started out very cold, with the wind picking up throughout; however the sun eventually warmed them up. The ice was very sticky and the going was very steep; yet they finished the day with a very creditable 13 miles under their belts.
Pom was in a 'whiteout' all day, with the inside of her goggles freezing up; she was rather disappointed that she did not have anyone to flutter her frozen eyelashes at when she finished for the day. However, no damage done.
The team are due to receive their re-supply later today; this will give them everything they need to get them to the Pole. The plane will rendez-vous with them after it has done two other trips in the morning. It will also give them an opportunity of getting diaries, film and video back to base camp. Hopefully we should have access to imagery by early bext week (watch out for new photos in the photo library).
Everyone is in good health and moral is excellent.
