The team were all in very good spirits. These have been two momentous days; firstly they passed the 500 mile mark on Friday, and secondly they broke through the '100 miles to go' point on Saturday afternoon. Having said this, they have had a tough two days. Saturday was especially hard, with extremely strong winds.

On Friday they covered 11 miles, in temperatures of - 21.5 C and winds of 5 knots. They endured very rough surface conditions with all sizes of sastrugi being crossed. It was sunny all day with excellent visiblity.

On Saturday they travelled 9.5 miles. The temperature was back down to -25 C (- 40 C taking account of the wind chill factor) and the windspeed was 15-20 knots. They encountered mixed sizes of sastrugi and undertook quite a bit of uphill work, although the surface was fairly hard. The conditions were very cold and very tough heading into the wind.

Rosie is now writing her next report which will be about their kit and should be ready for Tuesday.
