As at 18:00GMT on Wednesday the girls are still at the South Pole base. Their plane has arrived but it cannot leave for Patriot Hills until the weather improves at Patriot Hills. The pilot is not optimistic for an early clearance in the weather. Likewise, the Hercules is still stuck in Punta Arenas, Chile and will not leave until Patriot's weather clears up. All rather reminiscent of early November!
The current plan is to get them back to Patriot Hills and then onto the first available Hercules back to Punta Arenas; they will then fly from there to Santiago and on to Madrid with Air Lanchile. They will then fly from Madrid to London with BA.
Upon arrival, and after a private family reunion, a Press Conference will be held at Heathrow. All members of the Press wishing to attend will be asked to respect the initial period of privacy.
There will be another update when the team arrive safely back in the UK.
